The Numbers Don’t Lie
The CDC (Center for Disease Control) estimates that each year there are approximately 20 million new cases of STI/STD infections, and half of those are found in 15-24 year olds. This high number translates to one person contracting either an STI or STD every 3.1 seconds.1
Not So Fool Proof
While condoms and birth control may prevent pregnancy and some STIs, even if used consistently and correctly each and every time, they cannot provide 100% protection. Many STIs show little to no symptoms and can cause complications with pregnancy or abortion procedures when left untreated.
